With Motif, no physical contact is necessary between the sensor and the object or surface that contains the pattern to be recognized.
A variety of biometric filters have been designed including palm and back of the hand. Motif can be used with a wide variety of surfaces and textures including paper and wood.
Motif currently handles rotations in any axis or direction, providing tolerance when positioning a pattern in front of a camera.
Motif is fast. It is optimized for speed and has been coded |

for both single and dual core CPUs. For example, approximately 600 patterns per second can be processed in an AMD® Athlon® dual core.
Motif has been designed to work with conventional, widely available consumer-electronics hardware. This gives the technology a broad range of applications, from professional to consumer products.
The minimum hardware configuration to operate Motif is a mid to high-end consumer webcam-type camera connected to a conventional PC running Microsoft® Windows®.
Motif can work with resolutions as small as 160x120 pixels. |
