Conditions of use

BabyWatch® is an artificial/computer vision software. BabyWatch® is therefore more powerful than the human eye in detecting and analyzing specific situations, but certain rules must be respected. BabyWatch will be optimized providing the following guidelines are respected:

  • Infrared vision is necessary on the device acquiring the video for BabyWatch® to work in the dark or in very low light conditions.

  • BabyWatch® is based on the analysis of movement of the content of the video. You must therefore never operate BabyWatch® in an environment where the light is not stable or where contamination of variable sources of external light exists (do not expose the baby to constant variations of lights or reflections like a TV...). The lack of stability of the light/darkness could confuse the system.

  • The camera must be fixed about 40-60 centimeters away from the baby whilst BabyWatch® is operating.

  • Do not fix the camera in a place where the baby can reach it. This could cause him injury if it was to fall on him for example.

  • Place the PC/loudspeakers in a place where you can always hear them clearly.

  • What will I need for BabyWatch® to work ?

BabyWatch® can work with various video-acquiring devices such as:

  • A Webcam. A simple webcam can be used for BabyWatch® to work. You must however make sure that the cable will be long enough for it to reach your PC/laptop

  • 2.4Ghz Wireless video surveillance system. BabyWatch® is a perfect complement to these video devices as the wireless feature of the hardware allows mobility, and brings artificial intelligence to the video surveillance system. Please note that you will need an USB video digitalizer/grabber.
    (What is this? See FAQ)

  • We are currently working on making BabyWatch® compatible with more video devices such as IP cameras etc. Make sure you check our website for regular updates.
